On reflection, I may have been too conservative with my pace last year as I had never done 40km on a bike prior to last year's event. =) That's why I said "supposedly inferior". Oh, didn't know he has a foldie too. Mine is quite efficient. Not sure about the physics of it, but it's apparently got to do with the gears. I've tried plenty of full-size rental bikes which made me work harder to go the same distance. The only thing is that the foldie is for roads (or pavements, if I want to be illegal), so can't ride it on Ubin or other off-road places. Thanks!
