/ Sunday, 21 September 2008Heh, I thought I did! Copied and pasted from an email I sent you:
1. In Google Maps, zoom in to the area you want to show.
2. Click Link to this page on the top right of the map.
3. Click Customize and preview embedded map.
4. You’ll get a pop-up. Choose an appropriate size or input custom dimensions.
5. Copy and paste embed code.
6. Paste into post/page (in HTML mode).
Apparently, in WordPress.com blogs, you paste the code into the visual editor! Refer to: http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/07/03/using-google-maps/.
Oh yes, I can’t seem to find my message to you about why the Google Map doesn’t display properly in this post. Two reasons: One is that they did not zoom to the correct level when they generated the embed code. The other is that their post width isn’t wide enough! You’ll notice that there the buttons on the top right have been cut off. So, there is a minimum width to adhere to. Their default width, 425 pixels, is probably the minimum.
Hmm… seeing how Chun See and the rest are also getting interested in Google Maps/Earth, maybe we can have another tech sharing session.
