Hey! Long time no hear. =) Hmm... the struggling actor cliche?

Never mind about Steven Lim. Hope you're doing well. When are you dropping by the Little Red Dot?

Definitely shown here, although I didn't follow the last few seasons regularly. They kept on changing the time slot.

I recall reading that the theme song "With a Little Help From My Friends" (well, at least the Beatles version) was banned in Singapore for a supposed drug reference.

The Wonder Years definitely influenced the local drama, Growing Up. That used to show on Sunday nights when I was in the army. One of the better Singapore productions.

Ah, a real blast from the past :p Yes, it was shown in S'pore, Kevin. Was one my fav series during that time, a marvellous show for all the reasons mentioned in the Wikipedia article, & much more - incl. for me, the fact that the characters & I were abt the same age, & yes, that Danica was/is a babe :) She's one of those well-known child actresses with academic smarts as well isn't she, like Natalie Portman & Claire Danes, though she hasn't yet mananged to translate that potential to major adult work like those 2 have.

Reading though the articles now, I realise with a little shock that there were a fair few now-popular actors who started out in guest roles in the series, such as David Schwimmer, Giovanni Ribisi, Juliette Lewis, Robert Picardo. And I find I can still recall bits of the final ep, eg. Kevin & his father fighting, he & Winnie 'getting together' & the shock when you realise that the 2 of them never actually became a couple when they grew up. And that final V/O by the adult Kevin abt childhood: poignant & oh so true (and reminiscent of the ending of the movie 'Stand By Me', which I suspect influenced Wonder Years a lot)

Thanks for the pleasant reminder Kenneth :p

I'm intrigued... was the Wonder Years shown in Singapore? I recall something about it. But year, it's generational, so students today won't know about her celebrity qualities. In the States though, she's been ongoing on television... tons of shows. See Wikipedia for a listing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danica_McKellar
