Two friends who currently live in London watched Arse-nal v Fulham.
Live.
I don’t give two hoots about those teams but trust me, I wish I was there. (42 GBP for a ticket? *gasp* How do people afford season tickets??)
Instead of being among a crowd of fanatical supporters at Old Trafford, I had the Football Channel for company during the United v Reading game.
United completely dominated possession and territory. (Heh… I think I’m ramping up for Rugby World Cup. Who in football cares about territory?) Van der Sar, as the commentator suggested, should have brought a deck chair. To be fair to Reading, they defended well as a unit. Hahnemann had an inspired game. So, 0-0 at full time.
Is it just me or do ‘keepers take particular pleasure in raising their game against United? The following week, they end up conceding five goals to crappier opposition.
The salt in the wound (or icing on the cake, depending on your point of view) was that Rooney suffered a hairline fracture.
Not good. Not good at all.
Oh well, at least I had a nice time playing Balderdash at Yani and Pearlyn’s birthday gathering. Photos from Ee and Qinz.
Original photo shamelessly borrowed from BBC News.

/ Wednesday, 15 August 2007The other friend is amazing – she gave a complete account of the whole match! I can’t believe it…it’s like a newspaper/radio summary of the whole game. I’m assuming the pictures are lifted off some website? I was sitting so far up the stadium.
Anyway, don’t know whether you’ve read my reply to your comment left on my blog – if you come here in October we can go up to Manchester to watch Man U play Middlesbrough.

/ Wednesday, 15 August 2007Yup, Cheyenne has a way with words. Photos definitely from other sources. I recall some had watermarks on them.
Ah, I didn’t realise you replied. Unfortunately, I can’t make it. =( Maybe next year… I can always time a visit to London when United are playing away. Doesn’t have to be with one of the bigger teams like West Ham or Fulham. (Heheh… kidding.)

/ Thursday, 16 August 2007Well that’s if you don’t mind seeing them play away….but a friend’s friends are visiting in October and because they are suhc dedicated Manchester United fans, they’re buying tickets to the Man U v Middlesbrough match…and I invited myself (think cheaper car rental). So let’s see how it pans out….

/ Thursday, 16 August 2007Ahh… really can’t. Family holiday to NZ in Nov will eat up all my leave. Perhaps some time next year.
