Vendor from a people and marketing company (whatever that is supposed to mean) talks about all the wonderful features of their proposed community software.

All sorts of communication and collaboration functions.

Can do this, can do this.

Can enable this, can facilitate that.

Then, he sends us a summary of the session…

Via email.

  1. haha. good observation kenneth as always. maybe you can try calling him up to give him feedback to improve his “community” software…like include a 101 manual titled “walking the talk” or “if i can do it, so can you” etc.

  2. Heh. This kind of irony abounds in the technology – sorry – people and marketing world.

  3. eh, as a person working in the marketing field, may i say that this symptom is not just privy to the marketing field. Sometimes I think technology makes communication more complicated than before. Sure, technology may have helped by offering more commuication options but along the way, humans have forgotten how to communicate simply. Maybe we need to go back to basics, not least of all the “human touch”.

  4. Agree with you to an extent. Technology may have complicated things, but human communication has never been straightforward.

Anyway, I was jesting about this company positioning themselves as a “people and marketing company” when they are blatantly not.
