My alma mater has awarded one of their top academic honours to Dr Djoymi Baker for her PhD thesis which explores Star Trek, the perpetuation of myth and its cultural relevance. I’d read it. Via Slashdot.
P.S. Love the photo they took at Old Law (or whatever they call it nowadays) for The Age article.

coolness! djoymi was my lecturer and tutor for myth and media. our first lecture was looking at the story of odysseus and the sirens reconfigured as a star trek voyager story.
ehh…wahlau…got this type of lectures never think of inviting me . sometimes i think i’m in the wrong faculty.
there’s a thin line between dedication and obsession. i can’t believe she watched 700 episodes of star trek . she deserves the PhD.
