Browsing some YouTube videos, I came across the trailer for Who Killed the Electric Car?
At first, I thought it was some sort of spoof video. As I watched it, I slowly realised that it was a trailer for an actual docu-movie. I browsed the movie’s website and found a nugget of information which I’ve reproduced above.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, here is proof that the concept of intellectual property rights is slightly flawed when it comes to promoting creativity and innovation. Laws that have been amended for the benefit of big business still aren’t able to legislate for unfettered greed.
Coming back to the issue of alternative energy sources, I’ve always wondered what it would be like if the petrol companies suddenly declare: We’re running out of oil.
It’s scary to contemplate. But it will happen. Sooner or later.
