Nice seeing you too. Don't worry about it. I was rushing to catch the bus. Yah, hopefully we can. Bishan isn't very big.

Thanks for the compliment!

Keep on updating us about Naufal's latest adventures, yah?

Hey Kenneth,

Nice seeing you again this morning. So sorry I didn't stop to catch up with you. Was extremely late for my course & I had to go to the ATM first :p Hopefully, we'll bump into each other again since we're the Bishan folks :)

Nice shot you got there! :)

Definitely need a stable surface for the long exposure. Unfortunately, my el cheapo tripod isn't very stable. I just held my camera firmly on the window frame with the camera strap around my neck.

My brother thought I was nuts.

210 shots... ... fwah. Oh, did you use a tripod? I tried catching (on digital camera) the lightning once but don't think I got past 50 shots.

Well, I've been trying for quite a while. I previously used the 'react to the lightning method'. Obviously, I failed with that.

I considered the fireworks method of leaving the shutter open while covering the lens with black cardboard/cloth, then revealing the lens when I see lightning. I figured that wouldn't be successful too.

Last night, I tried the continuous method. Just kept on snapping. Bound to finally get a nice shot. Took over 210 shots to get this.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photo_exif.gne?id=141437033" rel="nofollow">The exposure was 1.6s at f/3.5</a>.

I couldn't decide the correct white balance. If I made it 'warmer' the sky would be a red-purple hue, which is nice, but it seemed wrong.

I admire lightning hunters before the digital era. They either had lightning reflexes (literally), deep pockets (using film for continuous is a big waste of money) or were very, very, very lucky.
