why do places i’ve visited in australia always end being burnt to the ground?

first, mount stromlo observatory

then, victoria ranges indoor climbing centre

and just last night, a major section of wilson’s promontory near tidal river (where i was just a few days ago)

update as of wed 6 april – wilson’s prom still closed to the public as fires are being put out and safety checks take place. the park will re-open on sun 10 april earliest.
